Going beyond the material.
Whether it’s support with homework or custom curriculum, we center on the student and help them deepen their awareness of how they learn along with what they learn.

Using AI for the better
Using AI for the better.
AI is a thorny topic; there are many reasons to be cautious about it, to avoid it, and even to refuse to use it. From an educational perspective, those of us who work with young people are concerned that leaning too intensely on AI could interfere with the development of essential cognitive skills like logical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Given the fact that Large Language Models were first out of the gate, writing is particularly vulnerable. We use the word “writing” to encompass many things—not just the words on the page but the process required to get them there. Writing is a discipline of exploration that helps us understand what we know, what we believe, how we feel, and even who we are. What happens when we let an algorithm do that?
That said, we live in a context, and AI is now a part of it. The reality is that most students are already using AI and will continue to do so. While we at Prologue would never recommend outsourcing key aspects of cognition to mathematical probabilities, we also understand that when consulted appropriately, AI can be helpful—and not just for saving time.
When we direct an LLM to serve our curiosity and discernment, it can take our thinking further and (yes) even make our writing better.
For students who want to engage with AI, we share techniques for working with it appropriately:
Where to start (orienting to the task)
Assessing results for usefulness
Checking results for accuracy
Using AI to improve existing thinking, research,
and writing
What to ask and how to ask it (prompt engineering)
Re-prompting for higher-quality results
Incorporating results intelligently
Finding an authentic voice in collaboration with AI
